Neue Schule bits are made with Neue Schule Salox® Gold which is a high copper alloy used for its high thermal conductivity and anti-tarnishing properties; Salox® Gold quickly reaches body temperature and so encourages relaxation and acceptance of the bit.
The Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge Full Cheek 16mm features the Tranz Angled Lozenge which is set at a unique 20º angle that activates more feel over the tongue.
The lozenge contours to the thicker, less sensitive part of the horse's tongue allowing clear and defined aids to be given through the reins without abusing the tongue or interfering with the palate. The bit is slightly curved so it takes up less room between the tongue and the upper palate; the oval profile subtly depresses the horse's tongue and allows for a larger upper airway which enhances the horse's ability to breathe and swallow more easily.
The Full Cheek reinforces the turning aid and helps with straightness and direction. The 16mm is ideal for young horses as it has a slightly thicker mouthpiece. The bit can be used with Fulmer Loops for added yet gentle poll pressure.
